A 56-year-old Lake Macquarie man is $2 million richer after winning half the national prize pool in Saturday Lotto.
Im blown away, I cant believe it, the delighted winner told a NSW Lotteries official this morning.
You know, its a funny thing. My wife plays around with tarot cards and last night she did a reading and said: Congratulations, youre going to have something to celebrate.
I just said: Oh, great, okay. I just go along with it. Now Ive won $2 million. It means I can pay my house off and sit back a bit, and both me and my wife can afford to take an early retirement.
Despite his wifes prediction, the winner was still keen to boot up his PC and check the NSW Lotteries website for the Lotto results before he would believe his good fortune.
Its on the internet so it must be true. I play Lotto pretty hard; I play every draw each week. I always said Id win Lotto one day, he added
The winning ticket was purchased from the Swansea Newsagency at shop 1, 202 Pacific Highway Swansea
The winning Lotto numbers from Saturday nights draw were 42, 2, 23, 27, 1 and 34, with the supplementary numbers 28 and 40.
There were no First Division winners in Lotto Strike, so the jackpot climbs to $160,000 for tonights $1.5 million Lotto draw.
