Jennifer Love Hewitt says starring in 'The Ghost Whisperer' has stopped her fearing death.

The actress, who plays medium Melinda Gordon in the US series, now believes there is an afterlife and it's nothing to be scared of.

She said: "Truthfully, I was terrified of death, but now I'm not. It's this weird thing. If you can grasp the idea that maybe you don't leave and it's not finished, it's not quite as scary. It's made me face one of my biggest fears and I live differently. I'm a worry wart, but now I don't live with the fear that a bus is going to run me over every two seconds."

The nervous star also claims she's had real life supernatural experiences, and admits she is constantly terrified by the supernatural show's scary storylines.

She added: "I definitely have thought at times in my life that I may have had a ghost in the house or something like that, but nothing major.

"I'm constantly scared. While we were filming the pilot I was terrified to go home at night because someone might jump out. I was freaked out - but it was a lot of fun!"
