Spooky Stories
Spooky stories are tales of the type that give you goosebumps and may even send a slight chill throughout your body, as well as make the hair on the back of your neck stand upright.
The English word "spook" is derived from both the Dutch (spook) and German (spuk) languages and was used originally to describe a ghost, thus the spirit of the dead person, or else a spectre, which itself means a visible or incorporeal spirit, especially one of a terrifying nature that can be either an apparition or even an illusion that still seems real. This can also include being like a phantom, an apparition without material substance or an image formed in the mind, especially in dreams.
Almost everybody has a spooky story to tell, whether from their own experience or someone they know. Yet far too few ever talk openly about them, often for fear of being ridiculed or made to feel foolish - sometimes even called crazy or just plain mad. That, however, is beginning to change as more and more people are now prepared to talk about their own strange and unusual experiences since it seems almost everyone has them. Which is why we prefer to regard them as being normal and natural, even if still usually called paranormal or supernatural because of being so, well, spooky.
Hence our request for anyone and everyone to tell their stories to us, so that we will be able to feature some - and maybe many - of these on our website here at AfterLife News.com
