The Canadian Gold Coin Maple Leaf is one of the purest available forms of gold in the world today. Minted at a purity of 99.99%, these coins are made using gold sourced only from Canadian mines. While the Canadian Gold Coin Maple Leaf was introduced in the year 1972, it has gained in popularity over the years and is nowadays collected by many because of its value as collector's editions and as a means of investment.
The .9999 fine purity of the Canadian Gold Coin Maple Leaf is guaranteed by the government of Canada, which is the sole agency producing these coins. I have inherited a four coin 1990 US Mint gold proof set (1 oz., 1/2 oz., 1/4 oz., & 1/10 oz.). It is in perfect condition. What would be the approximate value of this?

Looking through my numismatic guides,I'd say you'd be giving it away at $2600. The values shown are between $3000 and $3200. In fact on Ebay there is currently one with the bidding at $3150. Can't imagine where the other answerer came up with a price that would leave out the value to a serious collector.
